Throughout history there have been gods and goddesses that people have worshipped. Before the gods and goddesses there were various idols that were worshipped. Before the idols, people worshipped things in nature such as the sun, the moon, and the stars. Superstitious people believed that if they prayed and worshipped these idols and gods, good things would come their way. For example, rain and a good crop would be considered a blessing or an answer from the gods!
